Description
Bag of twenty .44 S&W American brass cases for reloading. Formed from new .44 Russian brass. Boxer.
This cartridge was developed by Smith & Wesson for their Model 3 revolver and introduced in 1869. It became the first metallic center-fire pistol cartridge adopted by the US Army, in 1871, but was quickly replaced by the .45 Colt & .45 Schofield starting in 1873. This cartridge was apparently used by Wyatt Earp at the O.K. Corral in a S&W revolver.
